Bedford, UK, 9 March 2009 -- Paul Austin, marketing
executive of FUJIFILM Photofinishing, praised Focus on Imaging 2009 this
week, describing the UK's premier imaging event as one of the best shows of
recent years.
“On behalf of FUJIFILM, I'd like to congratulate Mary Walker and all her
team on a superb show, once again. And we thank the N.E.C., and all the
visitors who came along to see FUJIFILM at Focus on Imaging this year.”
Austin said economic conditions hadn't adversely affected the level of
interest FUJIFILM experienced. “We were pleasantly surprised to find the
number of serious high quality leads exceeding our expectations, beating
even last year, which had been one of our best ever,” he said. “All our
products were very well received, and that was gratifying. Business owners
and purchase decision makers were confidently seeking positive investment
opportunities, rather than just meeting immediate needs.”
Stars of the show for FUJIFILM included the corporation's new Dry MiniLab,
the Frontier DL410, a compact, affordable machine, functionally similar to
FUJIFILM's traditional Frontier minilab equipment, but without wet
chemistry. FUJIFILM Epson large format printing solutions, particularly
those based on the new Epson 7900 and 9900 printers, which raise the bar for
productivity and colour reproduction, were popular too.
Other hit products included Boxiprint, an instant canvas wrap material
distributed by FUJIFILM in the form of inkjet canvas boards. They come
pressed and scored with a patented scheme of ingenious folds, enabling each
one to be simply folded by hand into a box frame canvas.
“You really need to see Boxiprint displayed like this in its finished form
on a wall,” Peter Hayward, commercial manager of FUJIFILM Photofinishing
said, “to understand what it's about.” He indicated the attractive box
canvases decorating the walls of the FUJIFILM stand. “It makes perfect,
fully finished canvas wraps. They look exactly like those made by more
laborious methods.”
New products that had a début or preview on the FUJIFILM stand this year
included the Epson PP-100 Discproducer, a CD/DVD duplicator/printer with
advanced security features that make it especially suited to solutions in
environments handling personal, private or sensitive data. And the Powis
Photo Press, a binding solution that mounts silver halide, inkjet or dye sub
prints into a photo book, using a cold dry adhesive process activated by
pressure.
Paul Austin gave a final endorsement of this year's show: “Following Focus
on Imaging 2009, FUJIFILM is looking forward to continued good business over
the next twelve months. We'll definitely be booking to exhibit again next
year,” he promised.
